About this work

The Annunciation to Mary. Centrally in the image, a pillar with a lectern holding an open book. To the left of it, Mary. To the right, a kneeling angel. Above the angel in the clouds, two putti and a light-emitting dove. Made as an altarpiece for the chapel in the Maagdenhuis on the Spui in Amsterdam.
