About this work

Mars is girded with a sword by Venus; two putti lift the helmet to his head. In the lower right, more putti with other parts of the armor; in the background, Vulcanus is forging in his workshop. Historical allegory with probably Friedrich Wilhelm, Elector of Brandenburg, as Mars, and Louisa Henrietta, Countess of Nassau, as Venus.
