About this work
Robert Baker created dramatic sculptures of the human form. In Sanctuary of Dreams, possibly his most notable piece, a nude female figure emerges from an amorphous mass, her obscured face heightening the sense of movement and mystery. As with the other pieces he created, Baker left it up to the viewer's imagination to create meaning of this work.
