About this work

Type status: holotype. Collection locality: USCS Sta. 2P or 4P. 1.6 miles off Chorrera (Chorrera is a small harbor 3 to 4 miles west of Havana), Havana Province, Cuba. Collected by Pourtalès, L. F., U.S. Coast Survey Stmr. Corwin, 1867-05-24/1867-05-29. CSBR Slide Grant Image 2016; IZ number 6547; lot count 1; Microslide 01, cardboard, fragment; Microslide 02, cardboard, fragment; Microslide 03, cardboard, fragment; Microslide 04, balsam, sclerites; Microslide 05, balsam, sclerites; Microslide 06, balsam, sclerites; Microslide 07, balsam, sclerites; Microslide 08, balsam, sclerites; Microslide 09, balsam, sclerites; Microslide 10, balsam, sclerites; other number MCZ 4702; type status comment: This appears to be a holotype by monotypy. In Verrill's (1883) examination of this specimen, he makes it clear there was only a single specimen collected.
