About this work

Collection locality: Italy. IZ number 74540; lot count 1; Microslide 01, balsam, odontophore; type status comment: Odontophore labeled "Type" by C.E. Beecher. Possibly from the type of Melania helvatica Michelin, 1831. However, those specimens were collected from Lake Geneva, Switzerland. See Call & Pilsbry, 1884. Dav. Acad. Nat. Sci. 5: 9-14. They mention examining the types of Melana helvatica from Switzerland. Without provenance of the specimen it would be dubios to label specimen as a Type.; associatedwith=IZAR.000842.
