Type status: hypotype. Geological context: Late Cretaceous, Fox Hills Fm. Collection locality: concretionary bed, "CAS" [the Ammonite Bed of Russell's unpub. manuscript], several feet thick in a series of arenaceous shale, about 110 ft above the Fox Hills base [or 190-200 feet below the Base of the Lance], 10 miles SW of Dupree, Ziebach County, South Dakota, USA. Collected by William L. Russell. IPA.06562: South Dakota. Ziebach County. Dupree. concretionary bed, "CAS" [the Ammonite Bed of Russell's unpub. manuscript], several feet thick in a series of arenaceous shale, about 110 ft above the Fox Hills base [or 190-200 feet below the Base of the Lance], 10 miles SW of Dupree.
