Type status: hypotype. Geological context: Early Jurassic, Turners Falls Ss. Collection locality: main Mormolucoides black sh bed, between 1 & 2 ft below high water line, along 300-ft N-S segment of S shore of Connecticut River between Burt's place (house) and another house to N, at E end of Horse Race, & 2800 ft N33W of W end of French King Bridge (over CT River), & about 2.5 mi E of Turners Falls village, Town of Montague, Franklin County, Massachusetts, USA.
