About this work
Geological context: Late Mississippian, St. Louis Ls. Collection locality: 43 miles southeast of Pella, Iowa; found in shafts of former hand-operated coal mones with some additional erosion by water. Caves average 2 feet from floor to ceiling, Marion County, Iowa, USA. Collected by G. L. Smith, 1962/1968. PB number 173500; lot count 1; accn=YPM.07579.
