About this work
Geological context: Paleogene, Nacimiento Fm. Collection locality: Fair preservation and fair diversity. Grayish brown, carbonaceous, lenticular shale, 20 meters long, 2.5 meters at its thickest part, grades laterally into dirty sandstone (levee?) with clay clasts to the south, and into gray shale to the north (floodbasin?) the shale is underlain by and unconsolidated sandstone. Abandoned-channel, FLOOD BASIN, San Juan County, New Mexico, USA. Collected by James U. McClammer, 1983. PB number 41863; lot count 1; accn=YPM.07644.
