About this work
Geological context: Quaternary. Collection locality: Blue-gray calc. ss concs. & cemented shell aggregates in beach fill (dredged in 1957 from SW half of a SW-NE-oriented, 2000-ft-long pit in Long Island Sound between 25 & 27 ft below Mean Low Water & 1500 ft offshore from Mean High Water line, & between Lake St & Laurel Pl), concentrated between 4 groins between South St & Baycrest Dr, & sacttered from there to Prospect Av, Prospect Beach, West Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, USA. Collected by Waage, K.M. & others, 1961/1968. IP number 39454; lot count 1; accn=IPA.07211.
