About this work
Oblong, with asymmetrical curved sides and corners, featuring abstract snail motifs, one snail with antennae on lower left corner, has attached wavy tendrils that move up case body. Second snail coiled at front end of lid, has several wavy tendrils that extend toward hinge side. Upper parts of case has mottled, hammered surface. Ornament identical on reverse. Lid hinged on side. Striker on bottom.
