About this work
Kirchner traveled to Davos-Frauenkirch in the autumn of 1918 for health reasons and settled there permanently. The view looks from the Wildbodenhaus, where Kirchner lived from 1923. The painting shows the snow-covered distant view over Davos with the church of St. Johann in the center. From left to right, the Kleine Schiahorn, the Grosse Schiahorn, and the Grüne Turm are visible.
