About this work
On July 9, 1386, the confrontation between the Swiss and the Habsburgs reached its climax in the Battle of Sempach in the canton of Lucerne. According to legend, Arnold Winkelried was the key figure, who is said to have broken through the enemy army by throwing himself into their lances, thereby initiating the Swiss victory.
