About this work
The plaster casts (Inv. P 6.1 – P 6.10) were taken from the terracotta reliefs that adorned the house of Walter Böcklin, brother of Arnold Böcklin, at Clarastrasse 17 in Basel as a frieze. The reliefs depict putti illustrating scenes from a pottery workshop. The representations were likely created in collaboration between the two brothers.
