About this work
Interior panel separated according to the identical board division from Inv. 639 (St. Bartholomew). Right panel from the lower register of the right interior wing of the Basel Mirror of Salvation Altarpiece, which was probably painted around 1435 for St. Leonhard. Together with Inv. 641, the depiction shows a scene extending over two picture fields: the three heroes before David bringing water to the king from the well in Bethlehem (2 Sam. 23,15–20).
