KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- Under cloudy skies, Space Shuttle Atlantis inches its way to Launch Pad 39A from the Vehicle Assembly Building (right). The journey is a distance of just over 3 miles. The water in the foreground is part of Banana Creek. Atlantis will fly on mission STS-98, the seventh construction flight to the International Space Station. The orbiter will carry in its payload bay the U.S.
