Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — Technicians at NASA’s Hangar AE, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), stand by while the Swift spacecraft is lowered toward a payload attach fitting, the interface between the spacecraft and the second stage of the Boeing Delta II rocket. Swift is a first-of-its-kind multi-wavelength observatory dedicated to the study of gamma-ray burst (GRB) science.
