Expedition 36 European Space Agency Flight Engineer Luca Parmitano is seen waving goodbye to friends and family after boarding the bus that will take him to the Soyuz launch pad hours ahead of his launch, Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Launch of the Soyuz rocket will send Parmitano, Soyuz Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and Flight Engineer Karen Nyberg on a five and a half-month mission aboard the International Space Station.
