Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — Seated in a slidewire basket at the 195-foot level of the Fixed Service Structure, Launch Pad 39A, are (left to right) STS-101 Mission Specialists Mary Ellen Weber and Jeffrey N. Williams, who is reaching for the release lever. The release of the basket will send it shooting down the 1,200-foot slidewire to a bunker west of the launch pad.
