Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — Technicians at Astrotech Space Operations in Titusville, Fla., check the progress of the MESSENGER (Mercury Surface, Space Environment, Geochemistry and Ranging) spacecraft being lowered onto a spin table for testing. Scheduled to lift off Aug. 2 from Pad 17-B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, the spacecraft is expected to reach orbit around Mercury in March 2011.
