About this work
Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — From a vantage point high on a work platform in the high bay at Astrotech Space Operations in Titusville, Fla., a worker checks the progress of the movement of the fairing halves as they enclose the GOES-N satellite. The fairing protects the spacecraft during launch and flight through the atmosphere. Once out of the atmosphere, the fairing is jettisoned.
