About this work
Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — Shrouded with a protective cover, half of the payload fairing for the STEREO spacecraft is raised off its transporter on Launch Pad 17-B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The payload fairing will be lifted into the clean room in the mobile service tower and later installed around the spacecraft for protection during launch.
