CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. –At NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, workers help load the Public Affairs Office console and chairs from Launch Control Center Firing Room 3 onto a truck. The console will be moved to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida and will be preserved for use in the space shuttle Atlantis display. During the 30-year history of NASA’s space shuttle launches, Public Affairs Officers sat at the console to provide commentary during shuttle tanking and launches.
