CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – At a training location near Launch Complex 39 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, members of the Emergency Response Team, or ERT, participate in specialized training simulations in order to keep their skills current. They are wearing full protective gear and carrying non-lethal firearms, which are denoted in blue, for the training exercises. The ERT training supervisor, wearing a bright green vest, monitors the training exercise and reviews procedures.
