CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – At a training location near Launch Complex 39 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, members of the Emergency Response Team, or ERT, participate in specialized training simulations in order to keep their skills current. They are wearing full protective gear and carrying non-lethal firearms, which are denoted in blue, for the training exercises. Often, ERT leadership serves as simulated suspects to add realism to the training exercises.
