SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Inside the well deck of the USS Anchorage, NASA, Lockheed Martin and U.S. Navy personnel monitor the Orion boilerplate test vehicle as the well deck fills with water. Tending lines have been attached to the test vehicle in preparation for an evolution of Underway Recovery Test 2 in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego. The test is being conducted to prepare for recovery of the Orion crew module on its return from a deep space mission.
