About this work
Inside the Integrated Processing Facility at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, a crane is used to lift the second half of two United Launch Alliance Atlas V payload fairings for NASA’s Landsat 9 satellite into the vertical position on June 21, 2021. The fairings will encapsulate the satellite for its launch atop the Atlas V from Vandenberg in September 2021. The launch is being managed by NASA’s Launch Services Program based at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
