The shadow of a photographer (right) is caught watching the perfect launch of the Boeing Delta II rocket in the background after it lifted off at 11:44 a.m. EDT. The rocket carries NASA's Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) satellite, which was developed to investigate the origin and evolution of the lightest elements in the universe hydrogen and deuterium.
