About this work
STS068-258-028 (9 October 1994) --- Astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour recorded this final 70mm frame of the Kliuchevskoi volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia. The volcano was near its peak on launch day, 10 days earlier, but a snowstorm left very little indication of the major event that had occurred here, except for the ash-covered summit and the large black flow down the northern flank of the mountain.
