About this work
Edison bristol-board incandescent lamp. Wooden pedestal base with two top-mount brass terminals. A single-arch bristol-board filament with platinum screw-clamp connectors, 2-piece leads, bulbous press. Spliced lead-connections in stem. Tipped, G-shape envelope with neck. The donor reported that the lamp itself is original, one of those used at the New Year's Eve Demonstration, 31 December 1879. The pedestal base is a reproduction.
