About this work
This blown-glass drug container has a flared lip and an applied foot. It is decorated with a blank white shield framed in blue and yellow with baroque-style scrolls and leaves. A blank shield allowed the apothecary to change the contents of the container and then mark the name of the new medicine on the blank label.
