About this work
This tin-glazed drug jar has a straight walled body, flared neck, and a metal lid. The cobalt blue cartouche is surrounded by scrolls, swags of flowers, tassels and the face of an angel. A basket of fruit adorns the top of the cartouche and is flanked by two peacocks.
