Jacquard woven ribbon with abstract floral design of large stylized polychrome leaves and flowers outlined in yellow on black ground; polychrome flowers attached to curving brown and yellow branch with smaller brown and yellow leaves and flowers; border design along edges of repeating abstract flowers in yellow on black ground; interior-facing border of repeating small yellow squares. Fabricated in St. Etienne, France between 1850-1900. From the Merci Train or Gratitude Train from France.
