About this work

Jacquard woven ribbon with abstract design composed of cross design on burgundy ground; cross design includes black cross outlined in yellow with red center point and 4 yellow arrows projecting from center of cross; brown scrollwork cut off; black band outlined with narrow yellow bands with interior yellow band interrupted by clover design along edges. Fabricated in St. Etienne, France between 1850-1900. From the Merci Train or Graditude Train from France.
