About this work

Jacquard woven ribbon with floral and botanical design of polychrome flowers with green leaves on black ground; flowers connected by stylized yellow acanthus leaves and brown twigs; pink and white flowers encircled by serpentine coil of stylized acanthus leaves; gold band with repeating design of circle and line on interior side along border. Fabricated in St. Etienne, France between 1850-1900. From the Merci Train or Graditude Train from France.
