About this work

Porcelain plate, painted in underglaze blue. On the flat surface a pine tree, peony, chrysanthemum and a large lotus flower. Behind the tree a pond with several lotus plants. The wall and rim with lacework with a pearl interrupted by whimsically shaped cartouches with flowering plants and bamboo behind a fence at a rock. The outer wall with three flower branches. A crack in the rim; the rim was broken and restored with six staples. Blue and white.
