About this work

Rectangular stacking box consisting of two containers and a slightly domed lid, becoming less deep towards the top. Decorated with a mosaic of inlaid gold leaf, with larger squares placed scattered against a background of smaller rectangles. The larger squares on the lower container sparingly applied, on the upper container and lid inlaid in increasing numbers, contrasting with the sides of the containers and lid becoming narrower towards the top.
