About this work

Incense burner (hibachi) of stoneware on three three-lobed feet, covered with a glossy red-purple glaze (tea dust) and painted on the glaze in red, green, aubergine and gold. On the outer wall six medallions with a stylised flower in a diamond. Three cracks in the wall, repaired with gold lacquer. Old label on the underside with 'Ninsei (style?)'. Kyoyaki.
