About this work

Lid of an egg-shaped porcelain box, painted overglaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine and black. Decorated with three large, scalloped cartouches with flower baskets. Above the cartouches a band with leafy scrolls. Between the cartouches scalloped triangles with napkin work. On the shoulder a band with napkin work interrupted by lobed cartouches with treasures (books). On the neck a band with lotus scrolls. Kutani.
