About this work

Soup plate of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, yellow, turquoise, black and gold. On the flat a crowned double coat of arms of the families De La Bistrate and Proli flanked by greyhounds, leafy vines and a lion. In one coat of arms a tower, the other with a crowned eagle and red diagonal lines. Around the coat of arms a band with lacework alternating with cartouches. On the wall a European decorative band in which the coats of arms are incorporated. Old label on the underside with in French 'de la Bistrate (Anvers)/ (An 11 fev: 1682) De sin à la tour sommèe de trois tourelles d'arg: Gd. cour. G.: un lion iss. d'arg, arm et lamp de gu. S: deux lévriers, du nat. - Proli (Brab.) orig. de Milan (An 17 nov: 1727) Coupe: au 1 d'arg à l'aigle de sd, cour. d'arg souteune d'une divise de gu; au 2 d'arg à trois bandes de gu.'
