About this work

Porcelain plate, painted in enamel colours on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, black and gold. On the flat, the coat of arms of the Samler and Shaw families with a griffin and a lion. The crest is a unicorn. Flanking the coat of arms are two palm branches and below it a scroll with the inscription 'PAX ET COPIA', 'Peace and Abundance'; on the wall and rim a decorative band. Some chips in the rim. Coat of arms porcelain in enamel colours.
