About this work

Cup and saucer of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, purple, black and gold. On the flat a crowned monogram 'S.C.W.' flanked by angels with a trumpet. Under the monogram the date '1776'. On the wall four flower branches. The inner rim with a decorative band. Old label on the underside with 'S.C.W. (British Museum)'. A crack in the wall of the cup. Armorial porcelain with enamel colours.
