About this work

Porcelain plate, painted overglaze in red, green, black, and gold. On the flat surface a woman, Princess Anne of Hanover (1709-1759), seated in a landscape with two flying putti above her holding a crown; between them the inscription 'My great suffering is among the maidens'; on the wall a decorative band; the rim with lacework alternating with four medallions with a landscape and four cartouches with two birds on a branch or two swimming ducks. Two cracks in the rim; some chips in the rim. Decorated in Europe.
