About this work
Pear-shaped porcelain milk jug with C-shaped handle, small triangular spout and lid, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, black and gold. On the body a cartouche with scrollwork containing a landscape with various seated persons and two woodcutters; on either side of the cartouche a flower spray; on the rim a band with scrolls in Meissen style. The lid with a band with scrolls and two flower sprays. European form and subject in enamel colours.
