Saucer-dish with a Dutch couple and a dog in a fenced garden

Porcelain bowl, painted on the glaze in red, green, black, and gold. On the front, a scene of a walking Dutch couple with a dog in an enclosed garden with a tree, rock, and flowering plants; on the inner rim, a band of lacework alternating with flowers in cartouches. Two cracks in the wall and some chips in the rim. The man and woman in this scene are associated in literature with Governor-General Diederik Durven (1676–1740) and his wife. European representation in enamel colors.
