About this work
Bowl of porcelain with straight walls, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, purple, black and gold. On the exterior a continuous scene of a cherry picker on a ladder against a tree and a woman seated under the ladder with her back to the viewer. A second woman, carrying something in her skirts, walks towards the two pickers; behind her sits a dog; on the ground a twig; on the inner rim a decorative band. After an engraving by Nicolas Ponce (1746-1831) based on a painting by Antoine Baudouin (1723-1769). Two chips in the rim. European representation in enamel colors.
