About this work

Porcelain dish, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, black and gold. On the flat center an enclosed garden with trees, bamboo and two women with fans, seated at a table with objects, one holding a brush; a boy stands beside the table with a bird, the other hangs out of the window of a pavilion with a ruyi scepter in his hand; in front of the table a dog; on the rim scrolls in bianco sopra bianco with punched round cartouches containing a branch or fancifully shaped cartouches with a landscape. Several chips in the rim; a crack in the wall and one in the base. Famille rose / Mandarin.
