About this work
Porcelain pattipan, rectangular and hexagonal, with lobed wall, painted overglaze in blue, red, black and gold. On the flat a river landscape with a pair of shepherds (man and woman) with an ox next to a bridge; on the other side of the water a willow; the inner rim with a band of flower vines. Underside unglazed. A crack in the wall. European forms with encre de Chine.
