About this work

Cylindrical box of porcelain on three feet and in the form of a cricket cage held together by three modeled cords, ending in a raised knob as lid knob. Painted in underglaze blue and on the glaze red, green, yellow and black. The lower half of the box with waves, birds and flower branches; the upper half is modeled in lattice work with in each compartment a floral vine. On the lid lattice work with loose flowers. Imari.
