About this work

This scene is from the Legend of the White Snake. The thousand-year-old white snake Bai Suzhen transforms into a woman and falls in love with Xu Xian. However, the monk Fahai imprisons Xu in his temple. Here, at the lower left, Bai and her maidservant Xiaoqing are about to use their magical powers to flood the temple in order to rescue Xu.
